Calling All Busy Women: Treat Yourself to Free Health Screenings, Beauty and Spa Treatments on Saturday, May 19

WHY:  Overextended. Overstressed. Overworked. These words are a reality for many women who are living in overdrive, taking care of their families, working 40+ hours per week, and ensuring their household is running smoothly. And while they’re well aware of their lengthy list of responsibilities, not many are aware of the health status of their own bodies. That’s why a community-focused hospital in Mesa is planning to treat Arizona’s everyday “Wonder Women” superheroes to some much-deserved pampering, free health screenings, a fun Royal wedding-inspired tiara, and a little “me time.”

WHAT:  To help women to reconnect with their bodies, minds and spirit, Mountain Vista Medical Center is holding its fourth-annual Women’s Health & Wellness Expo on Saturday, May 19, from 8 a.m. to noon.

Kristine Lilly – a U.S Women’s Soccer World Cup champion, Olympic gold medalist and mom of two – will serve as a keynote speaker during this special event, which is FREE and open to the public. Her talk, “My Mental and Physical Health Routine to Stay Healthy on and off the Field” will offer tips on how to stay well while balancing a full plate of priorities. Lilly was recently named a Community Wellness Ambassador for Steward Health Care, the parent company of Mountain Vista Medical Center. She will travel nationally to markets where Steward operates to participate in soccer clinics, share her passion for leading an active and healthy lifestyle, and visit with patients and their families at Steward hospitals. The Women’s Health & Wellness Expo on May 19 in Mesa will be Lilly’s first appearance as part of her newly-formed relationship with Steward.

The women’s event will offer a true 360-degree view of women’s health, covering wellness topics that most impact females of all ages. During the expo, women will have the chance to undergo health screenings and learn easy-to-implement tips to improve their health and wellness. Planned health screenings, seminars and assessments will include:
•    Glucose and total cholesterol screenings;
•    Gait assessments;
•    Heart disease and stroke risk assessments; and
•    Blood pressure screenings.

Attendees can also enjoy complimentary brunch items with mocktails while they can take part in beauty, health and wellness treatments and presentations, such as:
•    Express facials;
•    Massages;
•    Mini makeovers with beauty tips;
•    Dillard's shopping specials;
