Steward Health Care Announces Industry Leader Damon Brown in Dual Role as New Arizona Regional President and President of Mountain Vista Medical Center

Steward Health Care welcomes longtime industry leader Damon Brown to its executive leadership team as the new Arizona Regional President and President of Mountain Vista Medical Center. Brown will oversee operations and leadership at all of Steward’s Arizona health care facilities, including Mountain Vista Medical Center, Tempe St. Luke’s Hospital, St. Luke’s Behavioral Health Center, and Florence Hospital.

“Brown’s experience improving performance and outcomes in health systems spans decades, and I am confident he has the vision to lead Steward’s Arizona facilities into the future,” said John Polanowicz, Chief Operating Officer of Steward Health Care System. “His business acumen, leadership skills, and proven track record in the industry make him an exceptional fit for Arizona’s leadership team.”

Brown steps into his role already familiar with Steward, having served as Project CEO and Consultant for Community Health Systems (CHS) when Steward acquired several hospitals from CHS in 2017. Brown has served in executive leadership at community hospitals across the country including Brandywine Hospital, Heartland Regional Medical Center, Crossroads Community Hospital, Gateway Regional Medical Center, as well as Health Management Associates (HMA) and Alliance Health Oklahoma.

With a lifelong passion for health care, Brown began his career as an Internal Auditor with Epic Healthcare Group and Baylor Health Care System. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of North Texas and Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Administration from the University of Colorado.
